Church gets hundreds of signatures on petition aimed at gun violence
News
More than 500 signatures are on a petition targeted at ending gun violence.

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Parishioners at a local church have hundreds of people supporting their effort to end gun violence.

St. Brendan the Navigator Roman Catholic Church in Shallotte believes there's power in numbers and that's why they've created a petition on the issue.

Organizers at the church tell WECT.com they have nearly 600 signatures already.

They also say a number of other local churches have contacted them because they want to help out.

The church plans to keep the petition in circulation over the next few weeks.
