Sheriff's office investigating stabbing

SHALLOTTE, NC (WECT) – Authorities in Brunswick County are investigating a reported stabbing, according to Cpt. Highsmith with the sheriff's office.

Deputies responded to the stabbing in the 1280 block of Partridge Place around 6:22 p.m. Sunday, which is the home of 26-year-old Keith Wayne Futch. There, they came across Futch, who was stabbed in the chest.

Futch was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center and is being treated there.

Everyone involved has been identified and is being interviewed, though no arrests have been made at this time.

Detectives are continuing to look into the case.
