Help make Sunset Beach's birthday memorable

SUNSET BEACH, NC (WECT) – The Town of Sunset Beach will be turning 50 on March 26, and to celebrate, a 50th Anniversary Committee is planning several events.

According to the town’s website, one of the committee’s projects is on the history of the town, and it will include articles and pictures of important events that have gone on in the town.

If you have any photos, information or ideas you’d like to share with the committee, you’re asked to email or call Kathy Fell at (910) 575-5158 or nctreefrog@gmail.com.

If you have any artifacts or memorabilia that have to do with the town’s history, you’re asked to email or call Ron Klein at (910) 579-1354 or rmklein@atmc.net.

Planetarium hosting End of the World Party

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – If the world is going to end Friday after 8 p.m., you’ll still have time to celebrate at Ingram Planetarium’s End of the World Party.

Those in attendance will learn about ancient Maya civilization and discuss their calendar, which ends Friday.

The event will go from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., according to the planetarium’s website.

The planetarium is located at 7625 High Market Street in Sunset Beach.
