Shallotte urologist named to Best Doctors List | Health

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A Shallotte urologist was recently made the Best Doctors in North Carolina List, according to a spokesperson from Brunswick Novant Medical Center.

John J. Smith III, MD, of Brunswick Urology Partners was chosen by his peers to be in the Best Doctors in America 2013 database.

Each year, Best Doctors Inc. surveys doctors and asks them to rate their peers and name a physician with whom they would send their own family and friends to see.

About five percent of doctors nationally are chosen to make the list.

Dr. Smith specializes in bladder dysfunction, pelvic floor disorders, enlarged prostate and treating urologic cancer.

He is board-certified in urology, and he earned his master’s degree in physiology before attending Georgetown University School of Medicine.

His residency was completed at Lahey Clinic in Massachusetts.
