BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) –Residents in Holden Beach can expect to see some furry, four-legged friends around their neighborhoods.
The town adopted two cats from the Brunswick County Animal Shelter, spayed/neutered them, and then released them at the beach.
This process is part of its feline management program. The mayor says the colony of cats will help preserve nature, the environment and other animal life.
Holden Beach plans to adopt and release more cats in the upcoming weeks.
