DRUG BUST: Agents break up elaborate marijuana growing operation

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Narcotic agents with the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office broke up an elaborate indoor marijuana growing operation Thursday.

According to the sheriff's office, 38 marijuana plants ranging in size from 2 inches to over 2 feet tall were seized from a home on Clubview Lane in Calabash.

Agents also seized various drug paraphernalia, and equipment used to plant propagate, cultivate and manufacture marijuana, including lights and irrigation equipment.

According to the sheriff's office, Lee David Foster, 40, and Melissa Marie Foster, 37, were both arrested and charged with:

  • maintaining a dwelling to keep and sell a controlled substance
  • possession of drug paraphernalia
  • manufacture, sale & delivery of a controlled substance
  • felony manufacturing a controlled substance
