Learn more about Relay For Life | Community Spirit

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – If you’d like to learn more about Relay For Life of Brunswick County, you’ll have the chance to do so soon.

The next meeting will take place Thursday, Feb. 7 at Highest Praise Worship Center in Shallotte, according to the Facebook page for the group.

Relay for Life celebrates people who have battled cancer, remembers loved ones who lost their lives, and provided participants with an opportunity to fight back against the disease. The funds raised before and during the event will be used to further the American Cancer Society’s vision of creating a world with less cancer.

This year’s Relay For Life event will take place May 3 at 6 p.m.at West Brunswick High School.

So far, 29 teams and 65 participants have raised more than $9,500 for the cause.
