Shallotte PD weekend report: Bank bag stolen, woman refuses breathalyzer

SHALLOTTE, NC (WECT) – The Shallotte Police Department released its weekend crimes report on Monday morning.

The following incidents were reported:

  • Penelope Anita Gamble, 44, was charged with DWI and traveling left of the center lane. She was reportedly driving on the wrong side of Wild Wood Street around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday. The arresting officer reported that she had a moderate odor of alcohol on her breath and refused to do a road-side test. She also refused to take a breathalyzer test at the jail and was taken to the hospital to have blood drawn.
  • The New Life Christian Bookstore in Shallotte had its bank bag stolen between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The report indicated that $900 worth of money and $200 worth of checks were inside the BB&T bank bag.
